The essentials, for every car

• Wash every 1–2 weeks by hand with a pH-neutral car shampoo, two buckets and clean microfibre mitts. Wash top to bottom; wheels last, with a separate mitt.
• Dry with a clean, plush microfibre towel — blot or drag lightly, never rub in circles.
• Never use dish soap, household cleaners or degreasers on paint.
• Avoid automatic brush washes. In winter, if you must use an automatic wash, choose touchless.
• Remove bird droppings, bug splatter and tree sap within a day or two; they etch clear coat when left in heat.
• Park in shade or a garage where you can.

Detailing

• Interiors: vacuum weekly in winter; wipe salt marks from mats and carpets before they dry in.
• Leather: wipe with a damp microfibre weekly; clean and condition every 3 months.
• Glass: ammonia-free glass cleaner only.

Ceramic coating — the first 7 days

• Keep the car dry for the first 24 hours where possible.
• No washing of any kind for 7 days.
• If water spots or droppings land on it, dab gently with a damp microfibre — no products.

Ceramic coating — ongoing

• Hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo; no waxes, polishes or cleaner-waxes — they sit on top of the coating and mask its behaviour.
• Use a silica-based maintenance spray every 2–3 months after washing. Ask us which one suits your coating.
• If water stops beading or sheeting, the coating is usually contaminated, not failed. Book a decontamination wash before assuming otherwise.
• Book your annual inspection within 30 days of your install anniversary. It is a condition of your warranty.

Paint correction

• Freshly corrected paint is bare clear coat with nothing protecting it. Protect it within 2 weeks — a sealant, or ideally ceramic or film.
• Every unsafe wash puts swirls back in. Follow the essentials above.

Paint protection film

• No washing for 7 days after install, and no pressure washer for the first 30 days.
• After that, keep a pressure-washer nozzle at least 30 cm (12 in) from the film and never aim it at an edge.
• Light marks heal with heat: park in the sun or rinse with warm water.
• Don't use abrasive polishes, solvents or tar removers on the film unless we've approved them.
• A maintenance wash with us every 4 months is a condition of your PPF warranty.
• Small bubbles or haze in the first weeks are moisture finishing its exit; they clear as the film cures. If one is still there after 30 days, tell us.

Window tint

• Keep the windows up for 3 to 4 days.
• Haze, streaks or small water pockets are normal for up to 2 weeks in cold weather; they clear as the film dries. Don't press them out.
• Clean with an ammonia-free glass cleaner and a soft microfibre — never blades, scrapers or abrasive pads.
• Take care with seatbelt buckles, rings and loading items past the glass.
• Rear defroster lines are fine to use once the film has cured.

Ontario winters

• Rinse lower panels, wheel wells and the underside weekly when roads are salted. Salt brine keeps working long after the drive.
• Brush snow off; never scrape painted surfaces or film.
• Use rubber all-weather mats.
• Book an end-of-season decontamination wash and interior extraction in spring.
