Ceramic coating care: washing, winter and warranty
Rinse lower panels, wheel wells and the underside weekly when roads are salted, and wash by hand with a pH-neutral shampoo. Ceramic coating makes contamination easier to remove, but does not replace regular washing.

Start with the cure period
After installation, keep the car dry for the first 24 hours where possible and do not wash for 7 days. If spots or droppings land on the surface, dab gently with a damp microfibre and avoid adding products during this period.
Keep salt and grime moving off the car
Use clean microfibre mitts and a pH-neutral shampoo. Work top to bottom, with a separate mitt for wheels. Dry with a plush microfibre towel. Avoid automatic brush washes; if an automatic wash is necessary in winter, the studio care guide specifies touchless.
Maintain rather than mask the coating
Avoid waxes, polishes and cleaner-waxes over ceramic coating. Ask the studio which silica-based maintenance spray suits the installed coating. If water stops beading, book a decontamination wash before assuming the coating has failed.
Keep the inspection appointment
The studio issues three-year and five-year ceramic warranties with free annual inspections. Book within 30 days of the install anniversary, as set out in the care guide. The warranty is transferable on sale; read the complete scope and care requirements.
What the warranty covers
The warranty covers failure of the coating itself — loss of its protective, hydrophobic properties or visible degradation — under normal use and the maintenance described in your care guide. It is in addition to your rights under Ontario and Canadian law and does not limit them.
What falls outside the warranty
The warranty does not cover rock chips, scratches, scuffs and impact damage; collision damage or any panel that is repaired or repainted; damage from automatic brush washes or abrasive or harsh chemicals; contaminants left on the paint long enough to etch it; defects that existed before the coating was applied; or normal wear.
Making a claim
Send a photo of the issue if you can, then bring the car to the studio for inspection, which is free for a covered claim. If the issue is covered, the studio repairs or re-applies the affected area; warranty remedies are repair or re-application, not cash refunds. The warranty is transferable if you sell the car.

Questions
Can I scrape snow from coated paint?
No. Brush snow off; never scrape painted surfaces or film.
Is loss of beading proof of failure?
Not by itself. Contamination can mask water behaviour; have the surface assessed.
Is the annual inspection free?
Yes. Annual inspections are free and are required to keep the warranty in place.
Does the ceramic coating warranty transfer if I sell the car?
Yes, coverage transfers to the new owner.
What happens if I miss the 30-day inspection window?
The free annual inspection is required within 30 days of your install anniversary to keep the warranty in place, so book it within that window.
Does Platinum have different maintenance requirements than Gold?
No. Both require the same free annual inspection within 30 days of your install anniversary and the same care-guide maintenance; only the coverage length and the inclusion of correction differ.
