Paint correction vs polish in Mississauga
What's often called a "polish" is the single machine step used in One-Step Correction, the lightest of three correction stages offered at YYZ Detailing Haus in Mississauga, rather than a separate, lesser service. Paint correction is the broader process: paint thickness is measured on every panel first, then one, two or three stages are used depending on the defects actually found, not on the age of the car or a flat assumption of how much work it needs.

One-Step Correction: the closest to a single polish
One-Step Correction uses a single-stage machine polish to remove light swirls, water spots and minor marks, restoring gloss and clarity, with the finish checked under studio light. It starts at $199 + HST and takes 4–6 hours. This is the stage most people mean when they ask for "a polish."
Two-Stage and Multi-Stage: more than one pass
Two-Stage Correction compounds first to remove deeper defects, heavy swirling and oxidation, then applies a finishing polish for clarity. It starts at $599 + HST and takes 8–12 hours. Multi-Stage Correction uses a compound, a medium polish and a finishing polish for neglected or heavily marked paint, starting at $799 + HST over 1–2 days. Both go beyond what a single polish pass can achieve, which is why they take longer and cost more.
Why paint is measured before any stage is chosen
Paint thickness is measured on every panel before correction begins, because polishing removes a thin layer of clear coat regardless of which stage is used. Deep scratches, rock chips and etching that go through the clear coat cannot be fully removed by any stage, and repainted or thin paint can limit what is safe to correct. If a panel cannot be corrected safely, the studio tells you before starting, rather than continuing without checking.
Choosing between correction and coating next
Paint correction and a single polish both address existing defects; neither adds ongoing protection on its own. If you plan to apply a ceramic coating afterward, correcting first matters, because a coating seals in whatever is underneath it — swirls left under a coating stay sealed in, not hidden by it. Platinum — Five Years already includes a one-step correction before coating for this reason.
Warranty and handover
Paint correction, at any stage, is a service rather than a coating, so it carries no time-based warranty. Every car is inspected with you at handover under studio light; if anything isn't right, tell the studio then, or within 72 hours of pickup, and it will be put right.
Matching the stage to what's actually on the car
Because the choice between a single polish and a multi-stage correction depends on the defects found rather than the car's age, two cars of the same year can need different stages. A car kept garaged and hand-washed may only need One-Step Correction, while a car washed through automatic brush washes for years may need Two-Stage or Multi-Stage to remove heavier swirling and oxidation. The paint-thickness measurement taken before work starts is what confirms which stages are safe to run.
Before you choose a package
Select Car, SUV or Truck on the service page to see the listed price for that size. Read the package inclusions and estimated time together: the lowest priced option is not automatically the right scope for your vehicle. At drop-off the studio inspects with you and confirms the price before work begins. Tell the studio about existing damage and remove personal items before arrival. If extra work is proposed, it needs your approval. For questions about the condition of the vehicle, use the quote form or call 647-323-7867. Booking opens Square, where you choose the service and appointment; a website link does not automatically preselect a package or apply an offer. Keep the handover care instructions with the written warranty and contact the studio if you are unsure about a product or cleaning method.

Questions
Is a "polish" the same as paint correction?
A polish is typically the single machine step used in One-Step Correction. Two-Stage and Multi-Stage correction add compounding steps beyond a single polish pass.
Can correction remove every scratch?
No. Swirls, holograms, light scratches and water-spot etching can be corrected. Deep scratches through the clear coat may remain.
Does correction come with a warranty?
No. It is a service, not a coating, so it carries no time-based warranty, but every car is inspected with you at handover.
Should I correct the paint before ceramic coating?
Inspect the paint first. If correction is needed, it is done before coating. Platinum includes one-step correction; Gold can have correction added.
Can two cars of the same age need different correction stages?
Yes. The stage needed depends on the defects found during inspection and paint-thickness measurement, not the age of the car.
